My Go-To Makeup Look

My go-to makeup look is warm, dewy, and natural. I mainly wear this look when I go out but with a few tweaks you can tone it down for everyday too.

See below for my makeup routine and links to shop the products that I’m absolutely loving right now!

Step 1: Primer

Products

bareMinerals Prime Time Brightening Foundation Primer

Urban Decay Anti-Aging Eyeshadow Primer Potion

  • Primer is so so so important to ensure your products are evenly applied and last throughout the work day and into happy hour 🙂 I love this bareMinerals face primer because it’s not too heavy and it’s tinted with a little shimmer. Then, I apply the Urban Decay Anti-Aging Eyeshadow Primer Potion on my eyelids.

Step 2: Eyeshadow

Products

Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Volume III

Naked Heat Palette

Tools

It Cosmetics

  • Using the All Over Shadow Brush from the It Cosmetics brush set, I apply the color “Compass” from the Tarte palette to my lid.
  • Then, using the Precision Crease Brush apply the colors “Sauced” and “Low Blow” from the Naked Heat Palette and blend throughout the crease, focusing on the outer corners of your eye. Apply the color “Ounce” above the crease and below the brow to bled the colors together.

Step 3: Brows

Products

Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade in Medium Brown

Anastasia Brow Powder Duo in Dark Brown

Tools

Anastasia Duo Brush #7B

  • Some people do their brows and eyeshadow after their face makeup but I like doing it first. That way if there’s any mistakes they can easily be corrected and cleaned up with your concealer/foundation. I use the Anastasia angled brush to sculpt out my brows while emphasizing the arch.
  • Then, I set with the Powder Duo. I apply the darker color at the point of my arch and into the end of my brow, and use the lighter color at the beginning of the brow to create an ombre effect. Make sure to use the spooley at the end of your brush to soften any harsh lines for a natural look.

Step 4: Clean-up Brows

Products

bareMinerals BareSkin Complete Coverage Serum Concealer in Medium

  • I outline my brows with just a little bit of concealer to clean-up any mess-ups or product that the spooley picked up and brushed above my brow.

Step 5: Highlight Eyes

Products

Tarte Tarteist Pro Glow Palette

Tools

It Cosmetics

  • I take just a little bit of the color “Stunner” and apply it to the inner corners of my eyes and right below the brow along the brow bone. Sometimes I just apply this with my finger.

Step 6: Eyeliner

Products

Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner in Espresso Ink

Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Kajal Liner in Black Coffee

Tools

MAC 266S Small Angle Brush

  • Using the angled brush, take a little bit of the gel eyeliner and apply along your lash line. I then draw out a little wing. What I like about the Gel eyeliner as opposed to a liquid liner is that it’s not as intense looking. It’s also easy to apply and forgiving if mistakes are made.
  • Then, I apply the pencil eyeliner to my upper waterline. If you want a more intense look you can also apply to the bottom waterline.

Step 7: Face Foundation

Products

Christian Dior Airflash Spray Foundation in 301

Make Up Forever Powder Foundation in 207

Tools

It Cosmetics

  • My FAVORITE foundation is this Dior Airflash Spray! I spray it directly onto the my Buffing Foundation brush and apply to my skin. Any blemishes or imperfections disappear. BUT, it is pricey 😦 I try to only use this if I’m having a bad skin day or for special occasions.
  • Using the Blurring Powder brush I apply the Make Up Forever Powder to set my liquid foundation (or apply on its own when I don’t use the Dior Spray Foundation.)

Step 8: Under Eye Concealer

Products

bareMinerals BareSkin Complete Coverage Serum Concealer in Medium

  • Depending on how tired I am determines if I need concealer for the day (usually need it!) I draw out the concealer into two triangles under my eyes and blend out using your finger of a Blender sponge. I’m not a fan of blender sponges, because they pick up a lot of the product instead of applying it into your skin- so I mostly just stick to using my finger.

Step 9: Bronzer

Products

MAC Bronzing Powder in Golden

Tools

It Cosmetics

  • I apply this mainly to my cheeks and blend out throughout the rest of my face and neck.

Step 10: Highlighter and Contour

Products

Tarte Tarteist Pro Glow Palette

Tools

It Cosmetics

  • I don’t love clay/liquid contouring. I find it hard to blend and look natural. I use the angled contouring brush and swipe the color “Sculpt” along the hallows of my cheeks.
  • I’m obsessed with all the highlighters in this set, especially the color “Stunner” that I used to highlight my eyes before. I apply this to my cheek bones and temples and I apply a little bit on the tip on my nose using my finger.

Step 11: Lips

Products

Alexa Persico Jessie James Decker Lip Kit

Buxom Lipgloss in White Russian

Literally the perfect nude/pink lip. I hate when some nude lipsticks have orange tones in them. I love this one because it’s natural but it still perks up your look. If I feel like wearing a gloss I layer on the color White Russian.

Step 12: Lashes

Products

Too Faced Better Than Sex Waterproof Mascara

Double Magnetic False Winged Lashes

  • I love this mascara as well as the original formula. It lengthens and volumizes. Just be careful and make sure this dries to ensure you don’t smudge onto your eyelid or under your eyes. Since it’s waterproof it’s tricky to take off when mistakes like that are made.
  • If I’m going for a more dramatic look, I finish off with some magnetic eyelashes. My co-worker showed me these and I love them! If you haven’t tried them yet I highly suggest getting some. These are cheap and reusable. It takes some practice to get this technique down- you can’t be scared to get close to your eye, which I’m not since I wear contacts.

Step 13: Setting Spray

Products

Urban Decay De-Slick Makeup Setting Spray Oil Control

  • A few sprays of this will help your look last all day long.
